August 2013 - Long overdue update!!!
A year since the last update?! Oops... I'll try to get all pages updated today.
Anyway, thanks to everybody that showed up to cheer us on at The Ridge in July (of 2013). Our next race is in just a few weeks at Thunderhill. For those of you making the trip, thanks for your continued support!

Thanks to everyone that came out to support us at the Pacific Northworst Grand Prix. We had a great time and we hope you did too!
Our next race is at Thunderhill in September. It's a long haul to Willows, CA but we'd love to see you there.

An update has been long overdue but I was having issues making changes to the website. The Chimps are working hard to get the car ready for Shelton in July. We hope to see you there!

The theme is coming along (check out the photo section). 21 days until we are rolling to Infineon. The two biggest jobs we have left to do; get the car running well & have an exhaust system installed. Piece of cake!

The car runs!! Well, ran... We started it yesterday and began tuning the carburetor, then Mike looked on the garage floor and discovered a puddle of oil.
4 hours later, with the motor yanked and disassembled, we found a crushed O-Ring. Mike is going to go full bore rebuilding the motor while we finish up some other stuff. This was a discouraging setback, but we think we're on the right track.

It's official! Our application for Sears Pointless at Infineon Raceway has been accepted. California, here we come (we hope). We still don't have a race ready car, but we are making progress.

It has been decided that our original idea for a paint scheme ain't so original. We are looking at changing to a more technically challenging paint job. Wish a luck.

Merry Christmas to you and yours from Speedchimp!
The Portland race in February has been cancelled or postponed due to a very high level of whinyness about the weather. Since we did sign-up, we are guaranteed an entry at another race. We are looking at potentially entering the March race at Infineon (Sears Point) in Sonoma. First thing we need to do is figure out the logistics and decide if an 800 mile trip each way is doable. We'll keep you updated.

Things have actually been going smoothly. Cockpit work is coming along. Check out pics on the uh... Pics page. We are offici has been released and the first race in our region is in February. We weren't expecting to race until June, so this really changes the game for us. We have 90 days to complete our race car and we are hoping that will be enough. Also, Carl is going to be unavailable that weekend, so Melissa is being forced to take his place (getting her to agree to drive took quite a bit effort).
